It has come to our attention that several people planning to attend the Chicago Zine Fest would feel uncomfortable and unsafe in a space that supports Joe Biel and his distro, Cantankerous Titles. As per our safer space policy, we have informed Joe Biel that he and Cantankerous Titles may not attend or be a part of the Chicago Zine Fest, and have refunded his table fee. Our goal is not to curate the fest, but we believe it is our responsibility to foster a community in which everyone can feel comfortable and safe, and to be transparent about any actions we take regarding this.
