826CHI has been an enthusiastic sponsor of the Chicago Zine Fest for three years running, and has hosted many fundraising events for us, as well as our Youth and Exhibitor readings during the fest! In turn, the Chicago Zine Fest is a sponsor of 826CHI’s Promic-Con fundraiser being held on April 27th, and we are giving away TWO FREE TICKETS so that you and a friend can attend the event for free! All you have to do is “like” this post for 1 giveaway entry, OR reblog the post for 2 giveaway entries! Note: Entries add up, so yes, you can get 3 entries for liking AND reblogging this. We will draw the winner’s name on April 9th. Good luck!!
Here’s a more detailed description of the event:

At 8pm on April 27th, come to the School of the Art Institute of Chicago Ballroom (112 S Michigan Ave) dressed in all manners of fandom (or secondhand formal-wear) for a night of cosplay, (free) drinking, geeking out, and DANCING. Tickets are $40 for one, $75 for two, and can be purchased at www.826chi.org/promic-con. All proceeds from the event benefit 826CHI’s free writing programs for thousands of Chicago students, ages 6-18. Promic-Con 2013: April 27th at the SAIC Ballroom. Allons-y!
826CHI is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting students ages 6 to 18 with their creative and expository writing skills, and to helping teachers inspire their students to write. Our services are structured around the understanding that great leaps in learning can happen with one-on-one attention, and seek to strengthen each student’s power to express ideas effectively, creatively, confidently, and in his or her individual voice.
